I saw the post appended to this message on the archive list, but not replies to it. I would like to pose the same question. Namely, how does one specify MIME-types in Tomcat 3.3.1-4 standalone? I cannot find a web.xml file anywhere on my web server.

However, I can't find the web.xml under $TOMCAT_HOME/conf (there is a default web.xml under $TOMCAT_HOME/conf for tomcat 3.2). Also I can't find any document about setting mime-type in tomcat 3.3. Where to set mime-type in order to make tomcat works? Anyway example of web.xml format?
