Hello all. I'm new to the entire concept of Tomcat and I have a question which I have not found a clear explanation for.
Does Tomcat have to be installed on the webserver? In other words, can I not just install the redirect filter (and not Tomcat, per se) on the webserver and have it connect (using ajpv13) to a back-end Tomcat server? I only want to install the redirect filter on the webserver. Does a working JVM need to be in place for the filter to work properly?
