Hi,

I'm about to get frustrated trying to get mod_jk2 working on SuSE Linux 8.1
with Apache 2.0.44.

I have tried to use a binary I found somewhere, and I can see in the logs
that this is loaded by Apache, but there's no request being passed through to
the servlet container. I had the same trouble before with mod_jk about a year
ago, but then I was able to cure this by building the binary on the machine
it was meant to run on. The self-made binary worked. Not so with mod_jk2, so
far, unfortunately...

So I tried to build mod_jk2 on my SuSE Linux 8.1 following the "Quick start
guide". However, I didn't succeed for the following reason:

On SuSE 8.1 the directory of SuSE 8.1 appears to be fundamentally different
from Red Hat. Therefore the paths defined in the build configuration for ant
are not available under SuSE 8.1.

*Has anyone of you got mod_jk2 running on SuSE 8.1 without installing a new
instance of Apache web server? I. e.: How can I use what SuSE defines and
make mod_jk2 work?*

I'd be very grateful, if someone could
- point me to relevant hints (or even a detailed, SuSE-specific step-by-step
install/config doc
- explain me how the SuSE directories correspond to what is expected in the
build configuration, so that I can change this in a suitable way.

Thanks a lot in advance for any useful hint.

   Peter
