Tomcat Performance Measuring

I've looked through the documentation I could find, and I looked through the source for AccessLogValve and I didn't see the option for what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for getting a measurement of "page duration" (the time, preferrably in milliseconds, between when the server originally receives the first byte of a request and the time it sends the last byte of the response).

What I'm trying to do is monitor the server load/response time back to the users, particularly by time of day.

I've seen lots of test clients that do this, but I want to monitor my actual production system to see how it's doing.
