Yeah, I know there is contradictorious info...

I'm trying to find the page (I read it) that recommends not to cross
beetwen
JK and apache, but cannot find yet. It says something like:

If you use Apache1.3, use JK
If you use Apache2, use JK2 (since Java is multithread itself, the best
performance is achieved using a multithreaded webserver, and you "can"
configure to use JNI that don't need to communicate via TCP/IP)

The jakarta site says JK is deprecated and JK2 works in
Apache1.3, but I
cannot get the correct module binary and compilation doesn't work for
me.

Personally, I have working Apache 1.3.27 and Tomcat 4.1.18 with the JK
module and works fine (up to date at last).

When I find that page I'll forward to you its address.

Cheers
        Eduardo.

Eduardo,

That's news to me.
If you go to the link below. This is what you get.
So, I guess it works with Apache 1.3.X J
The question remains - where is the binary ?

Any ideas?
Anyone ?

Yoav.

http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors/jk2
/release/v2.0.2/bin/solaris8/

Apache JK 2.0.2 for Solaris 8

You'll find here binaries for Apache 1.3 and 2.0.
Build under Solaris 8:
mod_jk2-2.0.43.so is for Apache 2.0.43 (works also with 2.0.42)
mod_jk2-1.3-eapi.so is for Apache 1.3.x with mod_ssl
mod_jk2-1.3-noeapi.so is for Apache 1.3.x without mod_ssl
jkjni.so is the JNI callback stuff

Hi,

I think you cannot use JK2 with Apache 1.3.X, since JK2 is for the
multithreaded Apache 2.0, and using JNI to comunicate with Tomcat.
