Howdy, Hmm. It used to be right on this page: http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-4.0/release/v4.1.18/
But it's not there anymore. To paraphrase, the main difference is that JDK 1.4 includes crimson and jaxp, so the tomcat -LE-jdk14 distribution does NOT include those files. The binaries are smaller and there are less files in the common/lib directory of tomcat. If you're fine using the JDK 1.4 built-in XML parsers, use the LE distribution of tomcat. If you're running tomcat on a JDK older than 1.4, or you want xerces (bundled with tomcat 4.x) available to your webapps, use the standard (not LE) distribution. This is subject to change in tomcat 5.x by the way ;) Yoav Shapira Millennium ChemInformatics >-----Original Message----- >From: Kennedy Clark [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2003 8:29 AM >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: LE Binaries > >I know the answer is probably right in front of my face, but I have not >been able to locate an explanation for what the "LE" binaries represent and >how they are different from the "non-LE" binaries.
