John - it appears that the httpd that came with the program accepts dynamically loaded modules, so I think I will be OK with the mod_jk connector.
I've only installed tomcat on a linux machine. For the WinXP machine is it better to go with the Tomcat binary that comes in the zip file, or the executable? Unless, of coures, the httpd that came with that package won't except dynamically loaded modules.
