Interesting reading. Thanx for writing this up. Incidentially, RedHat 8 is a gcc 3.2-based distro. So far I seem to be able to run Blackdown Sun JDK 1.3.1 and 1.4.1, and IBM 1.1.8 and 1.4.0 on it. The Blackdown Sun JDK 1.3.1 is the exact same package as I've been running on RedHat 7.2 for quite a while now. > There are 2 Java2 versions. Use 1.3.1. I downloaded 1.4 today, because that was the only one I found on the download page. I'll look for 1.3.1 on monday.
