Why not a Tomcat eForum, like those at www.codeguru.com? Visitors can then expand only those threads which interest them, and notifyEmail is only dispatched to the thread initialiser and post authors within that thread. Problems are not missed, and solutions persist... Blah blah blah, so it goes on. Mailing lists are fine for eCommunities, but not for eContinents (was that an echo? :-).
