Hi Catherine:

The problem could be in these places

1) You did not start the Tomcat
2) you did not copy the begjsp-ch01 in the webapps directory
3) The url is case sensitive

Could you check these things

Subject: Problem in configuration

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am just starting to learn JSP using BEGINNING JSP WEB DEVELOPMENT as my
reference book. I followed all the steps from the book and I was able to
install Tomcat 5.0 and run the startup.bat. The problem was when I created a

JSP page and tried to view it in a web browser. I entered
http://localhost:8080/begjsp-ch01/index.jsp into the browser and I got an
error report status 404 - The requested resource (/begjsp-ch01/index.jsp/)
is not available. I followed every step in the book and I dont't know where
I went wrong.

Please reply back to my email. Thanks and have a nice day.

Best regards,
Catherine Pajarillo
