Sorry for reposting this matter (was:"htaccess/virtual hosts doesn't work"), but in the meantime I could find out some things by myself.
I have a combination of Apache httpd/mod_jk2/Tomcat (2.0.44/2.0.2/4.1.24) on Sol8. Apache is set up to serve a number of name-based virtual hosts. Some of the hosts should serve dynamic content with Tomcat, others not. When I set up 'workers2.properties' with the directive:
[uri:/*.jsp]
everything works right as long as I don't want to use 'index.jsp' as Directory index file in httpd.conf. Including 'index.jsp' in the Apache 'DirectoryIndex' directive results in the following behaviour: Even if there is no file in a directory, which is specified by 'DirectoryIndex', Apache maps this request to Tomcat, no matter what I have in the 'workers2.properties'. Maybe I am completely wrong about the mapping configuration directives in 'workers2.properties', but I just can't see what's wrong.
Any help appreciated, Carsten
