That is what the examples web application is for, in a default Tomcat installation. If you copy that setup, you should be OK.


If you have:

http://my.host.com = ROOT Context in server.xml (<Context path="" docBase="ROOT" ... >)

http://my.host.com/someURL = someURL Context in server.xml (<Context path="someURL" docBase="someURL" ...>)

http://my.host.com/examples = /examples Context in server.xml (<Context path="examples" docBase="examples" ...>)

Check the docs.

You can't just create a folder under http://my.host.com and have it magically work like it does for PHP and ASP. Tomcat doesn't work like that. You need a WEB-INF folder, you need a web.xml file, you need a Context, etc.

Google is not necessary, check the docs!!!
