Thank you for setting up and sharing information regarding this page. Pages like these add a lot of value and help many users in my experience. I have two comments regarding specific points in your web page: "Some OSes (Linux 2.4 amongst those) are said to have the option of stripping the "privileged" status off a port. Some argue that this introduces security problems because this contradicts the idea of having priviledged ports in the first place. With all these Windows machines around I think it's no longer a safe assumption. But I don't know how to use that feature, so no further help here :-)" You can link to http://www.linuxsecurity.com/feature_stories/kernel-24-security-printer. html and kernel Capabilities documentation for information on how to do this. "Tomcat is good at serving Servlets (and JSP Pages), but it's not not as efficient sending static content like images or normal html pages." I'm curious to know if you've done benchmarks to support the above point? If it's based on old / heresay information, I don't think it should be repeated. But it's your web page and just my HO ;) Yoav Shapira This e-mail, including any attachments, is a confidential business communication, and may contain information that is confidential, proprietary and/or privileged.
