When 4.1.25 comes out, I'll give it a try ASAP.
Any better suggestion? How would the build process be done otherwise?
I mean, I strictly followed the instructions on http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/building.html
I am using ant 1.5.3 instead of 1.5.1, as the latter was not available or I could not find it.
Nothing in that page explains how to download a specific branch from CVS. I imagine that I could modify the build.xml provided, but as I am not familiar with TC dependencies, I just run ant as it was...

I hope that you got the coyote_10 branch (which is what TC 4.1.x is currently using). The HEAD is meant for TC 5.x (but, should still work with TC 4.1.x if you install the pre-release components that it depends on).

tryBeware that late Tomcat behaves oddly when reading certificates from an Apache web server.
Apparently, it will be fixed on 4.1.25, and is fixed on CVS (I will be testing it tomorrow morning, with a CVS snapshot taken a few days ago. If you want to hear about the results, please e-mail me at work at < antonio dot fiol at red dot es >).

Yoav,
Do you (have to for your app.) also run a certificate and or any HTTPS pages? Or do I genuinely need Apache for such things?

Howdy,
I did the standard apache2 - tomcat mod_jk configuration once, just to
it out. But I run tomcat standalone, including in production, as I find its performance more than adequate and don't need any apache features.
