The JVM doesn't have enough memory to accomplish what it's trying to do. This happens either because your program simply requires more memory than the heap has, or because your program is flawed with regard to releasing object references, thereby preventing garbage collection from freeing up memory. There is much literature on this subject, including in this list's archives and on java.sun.com. For starters, you can increase the heap using -XmxNm where N is the maximum number of megabytes of RAM to allocate to the heap. This N is 64 by default. >exception....What happens if i increase the Heap size...does it effect java >GC. Increasing heap size affects GC, but not necessarily in a negative way. You should research this issue a bit more and then post more application-specific memory usage questions if you have them.
