JBoss is fairly complete J2EE application server. Tomcat just does the Servlet/JSP portion of the the J2EE spec. You can get Jboss with either Jetty or Tomcat as the Servlet/JSP engine. Either should be able to be connected to Apache2 via mod_jk2 as they both support apj13.
