(stuff about cpio) Well, it is certainly consistent with my experience that gnu-cpio has bugs and pax-cpio has bugs. At least I'm familiar enough with the pax-cpio source that I can try to fix it. I _have_ built it without problems on loopback filesystems, though, so I still think there may be some _other_ factor affecting the pax-cpio dropping hardlinks. I will increase the priority of trying to find quirky bugs in pax-cpio, there is another one that affects pipes in passthrough. The source is in the add-ons directory if anyone would care to take a shot at it before I get to it. You may have noticed that I've been spending less time on tomsrtbt. Mostly I've had to spend time instead on learning java, whitewater kayaking, and TV. Once I catch up on those priorities, I do, however, plan to get back to furious improvements to tomsrtbt... -Tom
