I switched to 2.2 with no problem except I had to replace /dev/ with /dev/
from my linux box or run mknod generic. I forget which of the two
approaches I used. Nothing more was needed and everything works properly.
Apparently the /dev/*tty* stuff was changed around 1.3.5x but made
backward compatible until later 2.1.xxx when the backward compatibility
was removed. So technically toms..118 /dev is not even correct for 2.0
but it works. (I discovered this when my Linux box went to 2.1.127).
