Do you have the 'rmt' remote tape protocol set up on the other machine?
You have to have the machine with the tape drive set up to support remote
tape services.  Also, probably you have to have dns and routing working in
both directions.  What _exactly_ was the error?  Have you done this with
non-tomsrtbt machines? -Tom
