Perhaps this violates the admonition against asking Unix questions
here, but again, maybe not. :-)

The last time I used tomsrtbt was version 1.6.something and as I recall
I had no trouble using it to access other nodes on my local net. Now,
I am unable to. Here are the symptoms:
    1) I set up ifconfig and route to match other nodes, assigning
192.168.110.41 to the tomsrtbt node, with a broadcast address of
255.255.255.0.
    2) I can use tomsrtbt to ping the other nodes, but tomsrtbt does
not respond to pings from the other nodes.
    3) I can not telnet from tomsrtbt

Well, I just resolved the problem! I noticed that my routing table had
a "H" flag set which is not the same as other, working, nodes. The way
to get the "H" flag to go away is to put route thusly:
route add -net <sub-net> eth0
I haven't before encountered the need to use a "-net" in route
commands.
