        I suspect that Edward(?) is using a Promise Ultra66
        controller.  This requires a driver or kernel patch to run
        with Linux.

        I've heard from one customer that there is a disk image
        (installation boot diskette for Red Hat 6.0) available
        at the Promise web site.  I've also heard that the 
        driver was integrated into the mainstream kernel sometime
        between 2.2.10 and 2.2.12.  I don' know if the driver is
        available for a 2.0.x kernel or if there will be any
        interest in back porting it.  

        Certainly it would be nice to have Toms Root/Boot support
        for itsince it appears to be selling "like hotcakes" as they 
        say.
