I am trying to add a new kernel under v1.7.185 of
tomsrtbt. I have been compiling a 2.3.39 kernel. I
have pretty much taken out everything but the
essentials, and configured optional drivers as modules.
I will include the .config file at the bottom of
this message in case I am forgetting to compile in
an additional parameter.
After compiling my kernel, I copy it directly from the
arch/i386/boot/ directory to 1/zImage. I run the buildit.s
script and it builds an image for me to use. I write the image
out to disk, and try to boot.
I always end up getting the following error:

Do you have any idea about what might be wrong? I did manage
to get it to not blow up once by using rdev. It just prompted
me for a root disk. I have not found a lot of documentation to
explain to me the required steps to do this. The Bootdisk howto
briefly mentions rdev, but not in any detail.
I am in the process of trying to make a 2.0.36 kernel and a
2.2.14 kernel from source and see if the problem is with those
kernels as well.
