i'm trying to use md5sum to produce a regular md5sum summary for a bunch
of files from a machine booted with tomsrtbt, but i'm running into some
trouble. the default md5sum summary is something like:
7519cf8958f5ebcb76f70388905cbab2 dir/dir/file
the default md5sum script on tomsrtbt only provides the checksum, not
the filename, so you can't save that off to compare later. to resolve
this, change the line that reads:
tomshexd -mn
to:
echo "`tomshexd -mn $1 2>&1` $1"
the double quotes are required, as the md5sum program seems to insist
that there are two spaces between the sum and the filename.
now, you can use the file as a regular md5sum file.
hope this is useful.
