Hello,
I am sorry if this was already in the list, but I haven't read it for a long
time.
In tomsrtbt 1.7.185 (I guess this is very old today...).
While copying a large directowy with cp -av, after one file the program
didn't work anymore. I chould login in the other consoles but most of the
programs said "cannot fork". My questions are:
1. Is this a bug and is it corrected in neer versions?
2. Or was the memory exhausted - would it help, if I had added some swap
space? (under Debian I could copy the directory)
BTW, I have noticed that cp -av doesn't preserve always the hard links, when
copying a list of files and directories ("cp -av *"). But I can try again
after a month, not earlier. It would be nice if someone tells me if this
behaviour is known, and if there is a right way to copy e.g. "/usr" to
another partition.
Regards
Guentcho
