[tomsrtbt] Replacements for various utilities

I am not extremely well versed in the use of linux so I am having a little
trouble doing it myself.  Has anyone ever attempted to use something like
BusyBox to replace a large number of the binaries on a single floppy distro?
I am running into trouble with tomsrtbt not wanting to re-build itself after
I do so I assume I have overwritten a utility that it needs, but I cant
figure it out for the life of me.
