Hi,

We're getting ready to do production installs
with customized Toms floppies. We have no idea
what sort of floppy drives all the machines have.

So, do we need to worry about the 1722k floppy
failing to boot on certain floppy drives?

Hopefully not. But I want to be sure.

Can anyone send me the make/model of a floppy
drive and details of the computer
that can boot a std 1440k but not 1722k?

The second part is this: how hard is it to
pare down the new Toms floppy to fit and work
on a std 1440k floppy? We won't need all the
commands and drivers that are there. Suppose
we removed all the drivers and commands except
a minimum set to be able to boot and do little else,
would that be enough squeeze down to 1440k?

I know this is a FAQ, but the FAQ said 1440k
floppies won't work and I believe that's true.
I just want to know 'How impossible is it?'
