Well, I dunno, the parallel support on tomsrtbt is for zip drives, zip-plus drives, and PLIP-networking. If there are printers that choke on the zip- and zip-plus autodetection (probably it is zip and zipplus, not plip, that is the problem), well, I dunno if there is much to do, maybe there are boot: parameters? I'm sure there is at minimum some way to say 'no ppa' or 'no imm' at boot. But, the easy solution would be to turn the printer off. Of course, since the parport is enabled (for purposes of zip and zip-plus and plip), it is possible to send stuff to the printer- but that is just a side effect. If you can figure out what boot: parameters to give the kernel to not do this, I'll post it on the wiki (or you could do that), but, it doesn't sound like a problem with the tomsrtbt as much as a problem with the printer. You are saying the printer starts cycling, but, it doesn't affect the tomsrtbt session. I guess people would figure out to turn the printer off until they finish rescuing... -Tom
