The kernel went from 2.0.39 to 2.2.20.  But the NCR53C875 and AIC7xxx
are supported in both, so I don't know why it would be having issues.

Maybe some kind of interrupt routing problem that the 2.0.x kernel is too
dumb to be confused by?  Dunno.

Personally, if I replaced hardware A with hardware B, and had this much
trouble, I would nail hardware B to the fence in the back yard and either
go back to hardware A or acquire hardware C...
