We are using Kensington's StoreCase bays for the drives, and the Linux md raid modules to handle the mirror set administration. We haven't automated anything yet -- all the critical volumes are mirrored, and we intend to tell the md module to break the mirrorset, power down one of the drives, pull it out and replace it with a blank one, then restore the mirrorset (we currently use this technique to clone the system disk when we bring up a new server, and it works well for that. We already have a tape rotation for backups, but it's getting more expensive every day.) Steve Brown [EMAIL PROTECTED]
