Hi.

I'm still battling to get a pcmcia network card recognised on a
laptop by Tomsrtbt (or any other mini-linux for that matter).
The laptop has no OS so I'm need the network in order to install.
(No CD)

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite 220CS
In BIOS: choice of PCIC Compatable/Cardbus(16bit)
 - I've tried both.

Note from manufacturer of network card:
<hint>
Because this PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter is NE2000 compatible,
Linux will autodetect and install NE2000 compatible driver for this PC Card.
Just make sure you have installed PCMCIA Card Services support package before
installing the PC Card's linux driver.
</note>

So it /should/ work under a full installation.

/etc/rc.pcmcia start
date cardmgr[149]: watching 2 sockets
date cardmgr[149]: unsupported card in socket 1
date cardmgr[149]: product inf "TAMARACK", "Ethernet" \
                   "A", "004743118001"
date cardmgr[149]: function 6 (network)

I have tried methods as suggested in
http://not.toms.net/twiki/bin/view/Tomsrtbt/NetworkCardNotRecognized
I have tried using and installing modules
nc2.o and ne2k-pci.o from the add-ons.

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance, best regards Darryl

PS Tom, The problem I had with buildit.s was only under
my main install - from inside Tomsrtbt it works fine. D.
