After some poking I've narrowed the problem down a little. The CCF I've been playing with has been loaded from my Pronto TSU2000, auto-configured for most of my IR devices. It seems as though something in the Auto-Config for the Preamp/AV Receiver and the Tuner is making Tonto choke on the save. I'll be going through both those configurations in detail to see if I can find the specific button/layout option/graphic/foo that's making this happen.
