Hi Stewart, I just wanted you to know that I also have a Quicksilver G4, 867 mhz, running OS 10.1.4 and Tonto 1.096. I have had no crashes. I am using the Keyspan 19QW. Until recently, I was using the Keyspan 28x adapter. Both work with your program, and connections can be made 90 percent of the time. On those ocassions where I get the 'cannot locate Pronto', message, restarting the application and/or restarting the computer have no effect. Hard resetting the Pronto fixes the problem every time.
I agree with Geoff Robinson that it is difficult to know how to start working with the Pronto software. I had to figure out everything by trial and error. Now that I have self-taught myself on Tonto and ProntoEdit, I must say, Tonto is easier to use without documentation, than ProntoEdit is to use even WITH documentation. Besides the documentation, the other thing that you could do to make the program nicer would be to allow cut and paste from an outside application (like Internet Explorer) to your application. Typing discreet codes is difficult and easy to mess up. Pasting would be much better. Finally, I do not like or use PayPal. Is there another way I could send you some money as a "pre-shareware" fee? Your support of OS X and your dedication to this project deserves money and many thanks. Best regards.
