Here is a link to the latest Tonto build:

http://giantlaser.com/tonto2/download.html

It uses Java Web Start for auto-installation and run which means:

a) it should stay up-to-date automatically as I post updates
b) it will not interfere with your existing Tonto installation, should the testing builds be broken in any way

This release fixes a number of burning issues:

- Pronto fonts would not render in newer JVMs
- Modal dialogs had a deadlock in newer JVMs that locked up Tonto
- the native communication libraries had a bug that made downloads unreliable - this is definitely fixed for Mac OS X, but I haven't been able to fully test Windows - I put in a totally new comm library for Windows, please let me know now it behaves

I recommend two changes to your preferences:

- under the 'Comm' tab, set all 'delay' sliders to 0
- under the 'Setup' tab, make sure 'Use Pronto Font in Tree view' is checked

Please let me know how this works for you. When reporting bugs, please include OS version, be as explicit as possible and feel free to include screen shots and log files.
