For it to build without issues I had to use a gcc built with gnu ld. Target: i686-pc-solaris2.11 Configured with: ../combined/configure --build=i686-pc-solaris2.11 --prefix=/opt/gnu44 --with-gnu-ld --with-gnu-as --enable-decimal-float --with-mpfr_include=/usr/include/mpfr --with-gmp_include=/usr/include/gmp --enable-languages=c,c++,fortran,objc
