This list is for those working on the compilers and related tools used
to build OpenSolaris.
You may want to check out:
The SFW project:
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/sfwnv/
sfwnv-discuss at opensolaris.org
The SFW project delivers software packages into OpenSolaris that's
built from other open sources.
The Companion project:
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/companion/
companion-discuss at opensolaris.org
This project creates a separate DVD/repository for software that
isn't packaged with OpenSolaris, but is available for easy
download and install.
Blastwave:
http://www.blastwave.org/
Blastwave is an independent set of compiled freeware packages that
install on many versions of Solaris, from Solaris 8 up through
OpenSolaris.

That sounds like a general enough question that it could go on the
opensolaris-discuss at opensolaris.org list (which has a somewhat low S/N
ratio).
But you might get better support on one of the lists I mentioned
above.

You may need to be specific about what sorts of problems you're
having. It could be as simple as incorrect or missing library paths
or packages on your system, or more complicated issues about porting
over software that wasn't really designed to be portable.
