Free Pascal is an open source freeware compiler for pascal language. The new version is onw also available for solaris platforms. (even though this is not yet listed in the supported operating systems). See: http://www.freepascal.org/ webpage.
The new 2.4.2 version can be downloaded from: http://www.freepascal.org/download.var page. The compiler exists for i386, sparc and x86_64 (amd 64 bit) cpus. http://www.freepascal.org/down/i386/solaris.var http://www.freepascal.org/down/sparc/solaris.var http://www.freepascal.org/down/x86_64/solaris.var The ftp directories also contain bootstrap native compilers that should be usable to regenerate the whole free pascal compiler too chain, using the source, downloadable at: http://www.freepascal.org/down/source/sources.var This is the first release of Free Pascal for solaris and should be regarded as experimental. The report any problems either here or to fpc-pascal mailing list accessible from the main Free Pascal web-page.
