As for the pulling a repository and email.
Given than one can pull the repository anonymously I don't actually see
the point in having the tools attempt to add the names of gatelings.
At the moment I'm pulling the repositories as anon and push as myself -
why ? because I can ;-)
I think we should instead make it clear which mailing lists people
should subscribe themselves to when they work in a given repository, and
dump the whole auto subscribe thing. I don't object to a system where
doing a non-anon pull or any push tells you what mailing list you should
be on for that repository - that would be useful.
Opt-in not Opt-out.
