When dmake includes a makefile, does it automatically see if the makefile needs to be rebuilt? That's the only reason I can think of (other than a dmake bug) for Makefile.dummy to appear in a dependency list. I've come up with a simple test case which I'll attach to the bug report. I'll look at your comments about the rules more carefully when I get a chance.
