Interestingly, I see significantly different results:
Old sleep - real = 0:24.293151398 GNU sleep - real = 0:23.625014778 ksh93 sleep - real = 1:52.517989662This seems to be explained by the previously-mentioned issues with ~ and path stat-ing in ksh93, combined with a path that has lots of NFS mounts in it.
