So a few hints which i hope someone will find helpful. 1. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/userprefs.cgi?tab=permissions
will tell a person what groups they're in. for me @doo i'm in two. @bmo i'm in 14 (mostly by inheritance). 2. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/editusers.cgi?action=edit&userid=1 For groups you can grant, if you edit a user (in the example url, it's user 1, I don't have edit users, so I have no idea which user that would be, http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/editusers.cgi will let you search for the user you want), you /should/ be able to see if the user is in the group by inheritance, they'll appear like this: [( )] [( )] canconfirm: Can confirm a bug. ... User is a member of any groups shown with a check or grey bar. A grey bar indicates indirect membership, either derived from other groups (marked with square brackets) or via regular expression (marked with '*'). 3. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/editusers.cgi?action=list&matchstr=&matchtype=substr&grouprestrict=1&groupid=7 If you want to find the list of everyone in a group (including people who inherited) you can load http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/editusers.cgi * leave the search field blank * check "Restrict to users belonging to group" * select the group that interests you in the drop down (in my example url, I selected a system group which *should* be editbugs, again, w/o editusers or grant for something, I can't use these urls, so I'm basically constructing from other sources) and click search 4. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/userprefs.cgi?tab=saved-searches Another thing you might want to do, is to share searches (especially ones you're using for whining) Select the drop down for the search you want to share in the Share With a Group column and select the group to which you'd like to share the query. In general, I'd suggest you not use "add to footer" for shared queries, it's about as unsettling as receiving unwanted email. (At some point, we need to make the show in footer ui work differently -- perhaps more like a sushi bar belt) _______________________________________________ tools-discuss mailing list tools-discuss@opensolaris.org
