I have a cronjob on hemlock connecting to the Commons database once a minute and when it's set to connect to zedler, I get the error "2003: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'commonswiki-p.db.ts.wikimedia.org' (4)" about 20 times a day, sometimes more. Apparently the 4 means "interrupted system call". They come in bursts so it's probably related to load somewhere. Where though, I have no idea. On yarrow I don't get these errors, which shows that the problem isn't in hemlock's end. Unfortunately Commons replication seems to have stopped on yarrow.
