I'm looking at 2-in x 2-in galvanized welded wire mesh as a ground screen alternative. Because it's a lot less dense (and has a lot less steel) than 1/2-in square hardware cloth, it's a lot less expensive. Typically under $40 for 50 ft x 4 ft.

Severns guidelines for mesh density suggests that this is more than adequate. Four rolls of that arrayed radially would be an awfully good radial system. The question is, does anyone have experience with how well something like this would hold up?
