Definitely time for a receive antenna. I looked at the K9AY and I believe it is somewhat dependent on a decent ground, which can’t be found around here. I was hoping for a report from N6RO on his new Shared Apex Loop Array. Looks like a good bet for ground challenged locations. If you want a simple easy to maintain directional loop, I strongly recommend a K9AY. Last night I would sometimes stop and listen to NO3M running the far west. Very very rarely could I hear the guys he was working!!
