No of course not Peter, I think it would work fairly well on one hop and ground wave signals judging from my experience with narrow beam arrays. As much skewing as we see on distant signals and the fact that we are looking at beamwidth in degrees pretty well says there is no way of DFing with any accuracy across the pond or through the auroral oval.
