I agree. This is my biggest gripe about contests, meaningless signal reports.
You hear SIG 599 PSE RPT. Any data sent which does not convey information is noise. This turns off hams, and more importantly, prospective hams. Hopefully we are using real signal reports during the Stew Perry contest. Stew would have wanted it that way.
