Jay, VERY nice construction work on your 475 kc gear!
I spent years getting paid to operate on 500 kc 12 hours per day. Glad to see you folks persevered to transfer a portion of the 600 meter band to the amateur radio service. Shore stations had the real estate for effective antennas and ran plenty of power. It will be a real challenge for you with the power restrictions that have been implemented. If you're interested in the style of maritime communications that occurred on that band for close to a century, go here: https://w3atb.com/history-of-marine-radio-as-experienced-by-jeff-herman-kh6o/ 73!
