I have done it both ways; no big deal. One thing you should consider, however,
is the strands -- once split -- get much more tangly and difficult to handle
thanks to the steel wire.Good luck!Mark -- WA9ETWSent from my U.S. Cellular®

text/plain; charset="us-ascii"Gents: I recently purchased a quantity -
actually, a kilometer - oftwo-conductor telephone wire. I intend to use
some/much of this wire toaugment the half-dozen radial wires I now have
surrounding my shunt-fedtower for 160M. In your experience, would it be
better to split the cable into twoconductors (it's thin wire, maybe 22 AWG) and
lay each in a slit in thegrass separately, or should I keep the conductors
intact, lay them as asingle radial, then solder the wires together at the ends?
I have plenty ofwire to do either. Thanks for your advice.73 deGene Smar
