Called CQ starting at 0030 UTC, was able to hear myself on the Malinhead Kiwi
SDR in Ireland. No replies.

I heard OK1CF/Karel calling CQ, and after a few tries he was able to hear me
(Děkuji moc Karel..you are FB op!).

Conditions have been very good lately. Was able to work LZ, DL, PA and PY on
FT8 Tuesday evening with just 50 watts into the inverted L antenna (normally I
don't hear that much DX on 160 on any mode). WSPR prop has also been good on
160 the past two nights.

We have snow on the ground for the first time in three years here in central
NC...while I can't prove it mathematically and I can't find any research on the
subject, I have anecdotal evidence that the clay soil is better for the
vertical antenna when I snows.

On Monday night I left the receiver going all night and decoded VK6 on FT8 at
my sunrise. I have never ever heard VK on 160 on any mode.
