Yes. At w8um in the 70s, we were granted the ability to use an unused AM broadcast vertical antenna with what must have been an acre of copper.
It was a lot of fun. We also played with another tower on 80 during the test. We did finish in the top 10, trying to beat Ohio State with their radio telescope antenna.
