There are two cases here... 1. A remote station that has both the RX and TX in one place. There is no problem at all with this - it's the same as if you were sitting in front of the radio. It can be in a different continent if you want (I once operated the ARRL SS CW from India).
2. A remote RX location different than your TX location. This is the special case that is also allowed with no issues - as long as the you are using the remote RX site as your only receiving location and it is located no more than 100 km from your TX location. Since the # of points you get for a contact depend on the distance - using a remote receiver that was really far away from the TX location would totally undermine the intent of the distance scoring. BTW - for those who feel the distance scoring makes this hard - it isn't up to you do determine the distance / points. The log checking software does this for all logs. All we need is a Cabrillo log with QSO entries that look like this: QSO: 1800 CW 2025-12-27 1500 K7RAT CN85 N9RV DN36 There is also a tool online you can use to enter your data from a paper log if you need that. https://www.kkn.net/stew/stew_logs.html 73 Tree On Wed, Oct 14, 2026 at 7:29 PM mstangelo--- via Topband < [email protected]> wrote: > I don't understand.
